Bethany Curve is a unique riparian corridor in the Santa Cruz county area, attracting the richest bird population in the region, in a beautiful coastal park ending into the Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. Over the past three years, volunteers in the neighborhood and students have been eliminating the non-native iceplant, which breeds rats, and planting natives. Working closely with the City Aboritist and the GroundSwell organization, the site is already attracting more wildlife back to their native habitat encouraging Land to Sea health and eventually, the overall quality of the ocean's sealife.
